COVID-19 update

In light of the current COVID-19 situation, we wanted to provide some information on our operations and the importance of communication in the coming weeks.

The AMS office and WeRecycle Portal continue to operate at full capacity and AMS has instituted plans to maintain the continuity of our management of the program. While our teams have been implementing work-from-home strategies, our online systems and capacity have not been reduced. Please continue to submit your claims as usual.

For our service providers, we want to stress the importance of communication during this time. This includes keeping AMS updated on any changes you may be contemplating to the service you are providing.

Service providers have the right to suspend or adjust collection, transportation and processing schedules as required due to staffing shortages, safety concerns etc. However, each service provider must notify AMS as early as possible. This will help AMS manage its reporting data in the coming weeks and understand more clearly where service interruptions may have occurred.

If you are considering any changes to your service levels, please ensure you contact AMS as soon as possible by emailing us atĀ operations@autostewardship.ca.

AMS will continue to process and pay all approved submissions.

The Solid Waste Association of North America released its initial guidance related to the COVID-19 issue on March 6. You can read this informationĀ here.

As much as possible, we want to support the health and safety of everyone who contributes to the success of our program, while hopefully maintaining continuity of service to the greatest extent possible. The safety of everyone is paramount and we appreciate that the unfolding situation may result in impacts to the collection and processing of automotive materials.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to provide information as it becomes available.

Stay safe.
